Kasama’s Unexpected Journey

What sets Kasama apart is more than just great food or ambiance—it’s heart. This success stems from Jayson Castillo’s unwavering dedication, resilience, and passion. Every trial, every setback, every small moment of community-building has led to this incredible journey. The secret ingredient?
Pakikisama--a deeply rooted Filipino value of community, connection, and shared trust.
It’s this very value that has allowed the Kasama Dream Team to foster genuine bonds with every person who walks through their doors.
When Jayson and the team first dreamed of creating Kasama Cucina Filippina, it was meant to be a cozy, humble restaurant—a reflection of the warmth, simplicity, and hospitality of a traditional Filipino home.
Jayson’s inspiring story highlights a journey defined by resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurship—a testament to what passion and perseverance can achieve.
In just a few days after opening, the unthinkable happened: a famous Italian vlogger visited their establishment. Fast forward just 17 days, and Kasama was featured in renowned food publications. Now, just 45 days after its opening, the restaurant has earned the prestigious title of “Restaurant of the Week” in Vivimilano. How did this happen? Was it luck, destiny, or something more?
“Thank you for believing in our vision. Most importantly, I am deeply grateful to my parents, who shared treasured family recipes and taught me the true meaning of love and connection, and to Almighty God for guiding us through countless blessings along the way. Your encouragement and faith have been the cornerstone of this journey, and I couldn’t have done it without all of you”, said Jason.
As a Filipino entrepreneur, Jayson has exemplified how determination can lead to exciting opportunities, even through small businesses and culinary ventures. His journey wasn’t just about building a restaurant; it was about crafting experiences, celebrating Filipino culture, and redefining the power of creativity in adapting to new environments.
From his first experiments with family recipes to the refined dishes that now make up the Kasama menu, Jayson’s path is one of trial, discovery, and heart. His story is a celebration of what it means to blend culture, art, and food into storytelling that connects and inspires. His ability to adapt, innovate, and connect through his culinary vision proves that creativity isn’t just about flavours—it’s about creating shared experiences that foster unity and understanding.

This journey exemplifies the transformative power of culture and creativity. Through Kasama, Jayson has used food and storytelling as tools to bridge gaps, foster connections, and create a space that goes far beyond dining.
His vision is about more than just a meal; it’s about inviting guests into a story, sharing the joys of Filipino heritage, and connecting through the universal language of hospitality.
Kasama Cucina Filippina is more than just a restaurant—it’s an invitation into a humble Filipino home, an embrace of heritage and connection, and a celebration of dreams transformed into purpose. They can’t wait to welcome more of you to their table and share their story with you—one plate at a time.
Here’s the truth: dreams don’t become reality overnight. They require dedication, faith, and a willingness to connect. Jayson’s journey is proof that dreams, nurtured by love, creativity, and resilience, can truly come to life.
