Melbourne, often hailed as Australia's culinary capital, recently hosted a trade event masterclass that brought Filipino gastronomy to the forefront. This event showcased the depth and diversity of Filipino cuisine, highlighting its unique flavors and culinary traditions.
RW Marketing and Masterplan Global unveiled "FilOz Flavours: Tickle Your Palate, Taste Your Imagination" on February 3, 2025, in Kensington, Victoria. This groundbreaking event introduced Filipino ingredients like Calamansi, Mango, and Ube to the HORECA sector, inspiring Australian chefs, manufacturers, and industry leaders to incorporate these flavors into their culinary creations.

The masterclass featured three standout Filipino dishes, each representing the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines. Attendees learned about the ingredients, cooking techniques, and cultural significance behind each dish, providing a comprehensive understanding of Filipino gastronomy. Renowned chefs led the sessions, sharing their expertise and passion while emphasizing the balance between preserving traditional cooking methods and embracing modern techniques to innovate Filipino dishes.


The event aimed to boost demand for Filipino products, strengthen trade partnerships, and position Filipino cuisine as a cultural and economic asset. Supported by the Philippine Consulate General, Melbourne, the event featured culinary creations from Chef Fhred Batalona (Palay and Barangay), Chef Morris Danzen and Chef Michael Pastrana (Adobros), Chef Michelle Visa (Arvo Cafe), and Chef Pierrick Boyer (Riviera Cafe).
Over 80 guests, including representatives from Crown Casino, Darling Group, Victorian Multicultural Commission, and SBS, attended the exclusive event. The immersive experience, enriched with live music and Filipino-themed decor, highlighted the versatility and creativity of iconic Filipino flavors.
"FilOz Flavours" was met with enthusiasm from participants, many of whom were experiencing Filipino flavors for the first time. The unique blend of sweet, sour, and savory elements captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression and sparking further interest in Filipino cuisine.
